Toby Bushee
MVEF Vice President
Toby Bushee serves as the Vice President of the Moreno Valley Education Foundation and as the Facilities Use Supervisor at San Bernardino City Unified School District. He co-founded the Moreno Valley Education Foundation, a non-profit aimed at enriching the lives of students within the Moreno Valley Unified School District. Toby, along with his wife Penny and their three children, has been a lifelong resident of Moreno Valley.

Ema Batongmalaque
MVEF Board Secretary
An MVUSD alumni from elementary through high school, Ema now works for Riverside County and is passionate about enriching our students' lives through arts and culture. She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from CSU Sacramento and an A.S. in Administration of Justice from Riverside Community College.

Renee Rojanaroj

VAPA Coordinator
Renee Rojanaroj serves as the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator for the Moreno Valley Unified School District, where she passionately advocates for expanding arts education to every student in the district. She firmly believes that Arts Education is a fundamental right for students and advocates passionately for Arts Education for all. With over 25 years of experience as a music educator, graphic design artist, and trainer for arts educators and administrators, Renee brings a wealth of expertise to her role in the district. She is honored to serve on the board of the Moreno Valley Education Foundation to further support the students they serve. Renee’s passion lies center stage as the lead singer of her corporate band, After Dark, entertaining audiences across Southern California. Outside of her professional endeavors, Renee cherishes spending time with her family and enjoying live music.

Dayanara Hernandez

STUDENT
Dayanara is currently a junior at Valley View High School. In school, she is involved with the National Honors Society, Mock Trial, Interact, Link Crew, and more. Outside of school, she is part of the Fifth District Youth Advisory Council, Ontario Youth Court, and runs a youth organization that aims at supporting Latinos in her community. She is a certified youth juror and prosecution attorney in Mock Trial and has shadowed attorneys on multiple occasions. She has received state-wide recognition in competitions, has maintained a 4.7+ cumulative GPA, and received a distinctive “Community Leadership Award,” at a well-recognized conference, for her distinct dedication to her community. She aspires to make an impact on her community and assure a helping hand for every individual she encounters.

Marissa Smith

Marissa is passionate about providing students with an environment that fosters their growth and development and equips them with the necessary skills to go on to high school and ultimate to college or a viable career path. She believe in creating an environment that allows students to be SAFE, HAPPY, HEALTHY and ACADEMICALLY SUCCESSFUL!!!

Josh joined Moreno Valley Education Foundation with the vision and drive to improve upon our Non-Profit Organization, and focused on developing the organization with experience and integrity.

Brayton Williams
Board Member - MVUSD Purchasing Technician
Brayton Williams sounds like a dedicated individual! Working in the Purchasing Department of the Moreno Valley Unified School District indicates a commitment to supporting education at a fundamental level. His dedication to giving back his time to help students shows a commendable spirit of community service and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. It's wonderful to see individuals like Brayton who are not only focused on their professional responsibilities but also actively engaged in giving back to their community.

Eduardo Corona

Student
Eduardo is currently a senior at Canyon Springs High School. At canyon he is involved in many programs such as NHS, Link Crew, Choir, and Theatre to name a few. Through his choir program he has had to opportunity to sing with multiple honor choirs across the country. Outside of school he serves his community in many forms. He sits on the Superintendents Youth Advisory Committee and serves on the CA State Superintendents Youth Advisory Council. His future goals are to return to Moreno Valley and give back to the community that helped shape him.

Dr. Robert Verdi
At-Large Board Member - MVUSD Interim Superintendent
Dr. Robert Verdi is currently the Interim Superintendent of Schools at the Moreno Valley Unified School District, which serves over 32,000 students at 41 schools and programs.
He has worked in a variety of positions at several districts during his 26-year education career. He has served as an English teacher, baseball coach, dean, assistant principal, high school principal, director of human resources, and assistant superintendent/chief human resources officer. He is a proud product of the Inland Empire, where he grew up and continues to serve within the field of education.
